Etihad will bring its Airbus A380 to Mumbai from September through the end of the year.

As Etihad celebrates 20 years of its service at Mumbai, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier announced it will operate its A380 on its Abu Dhabi-Mumbai flights during a four month period between September 1 and December 31. During the four months, Etihad will use its A380 on three weekly flights between the two cities.

Since its first flight to Mumbai in September 2004, Etihad has since expanded its presence in India with 11 destinations in the country.

“To kick off our celebrations for 20 years of service to Mumbai and India, we are thrilled to introduce our A380 on the Mumbai route,” said Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad. “While this iconic aircraft is typically reserved for long-haul journeys, for our 20 years of celebrations of flying to India, we will showcase the A380 on three-days a week for a period of four months.”

Etihad customers traveling between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai during the four-month period will be able to enjoy the experiences onboard the airline's A380s, including the upper deck's Business Studios, First Apartments, and The Residence – which features a private living room, bedroom, and a private bathroom and shower.

Etihad currently deploys its A380 on its flights to London-Heathrow and New York-JFK. From November 1, the airline will deploy its superjumbo on its flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle from November 1. The A380 will also be used on its flights to Singapore from February 1, 2025.

The airline expects to have its sixth A380 in service by the start of 2025.
